We have some news, and it has been a while coming.
When we last posted here, the Overberg Choir was just an idea and an invitation. Well, look at us now. We are officially up and running, and not quietly either: 132 voices, from all over the Whale Coast, coming together every week and making a sound that honestly gives us goosebumps.
Our very first song as a choir was Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah", the one you know from Shrek, and the result was nothing short of amazing. A room full of strangers a few weeks ago, now breathing and singing as one. Two songs under our belts already, and we are only getting started.
And there is more. We will be singing out in public for the first time this festive season:
🎵 Sunday 29 November, the Christmas Song Service, sharing the programme with the wonderful Pro Musica.
🕯️ Saturday 19 December, Carols by Candlelight at Landskein Wines, Amphitheatre, Stanford. Details to follow.
Come and hear what 132 happy voices sound like. Follow this page so you do not miss a thing, and if you have ever thought about singing with us, keep an eye out. We would love to grow this even further.
This is only the beginning.
