NOTICE: Gansbaai Administration affected by unplanned Eskom Power Outage

The unplanned Eskom power outage, caused by cable theft, has resulted in the 132 kV breaker tripping at the Houhoek Substation. This is affecting the Gansbaai Municipal Office, Traffic Services and cashiers, the Library, as well as Gansbaai Tourism, as the generator at these facilities is faulty.
While the offices will remain open to the public, officials will be unable to access account information, process transactions or accept payments for municipal accounts or traffic-related services. The prepaid electricity vending system will also be offline.
Payments can still be made through the Pay@ and EasyPay systems, online banking (EFT), and various third-party agents.
The generators at the Fire Station, Operational Services Department and Electricity Department are operational and will continue to provide backup power to these buildings.
For water tanker services, blocked drains or burst pipes, please call 028 313 8111 or use the Collab Citizen App to log non-life-threatening service delivery requests.
