Unlike migratory humpbacks and southern right whales, the elusive inshore Bryde’s whale is South Africa’s only resident baleen whale, calling our coastal waters home year-round and serving as our largest resident marine predator.
While figuring out the Bryde’s whale species can be tricky, researchers from South Africa and around the globe are gathering in an effort to untangle the story of this rare marine mammal.
