Hermanus Traffic Department to close for roof replacement

The building where the Hermanus Traffic Department operates will be closed from 12 October 2026 to 20 October 2026 for the replacement of the asbestos roof.
During this period, the Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR), Driving Licence Testing Centre (DLTC) and Vehicle Testing Station (VTS) at Hermanus will be closed.
The department will reopen on 21 October 2026 at 08:00.
*Services available at other offices*
Residents can make use of the following alternative services during the closure:
Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR)
*MVR services are open at*:
• Gansbaai Traffic Administration
• Kleinmond Traffic Administration
*Driving Licence Services*:
The following services will be available at the Gansbaai DLTC:
• Renewal of driving licences
• Renewal and related services for Professional Driving Permits (PrDP)
• Applications for learner’s licence tests
Please note that no practical driving licence tests will be conducted during the closure period.
*Traffic fines*
Traffic fines can be paid at the Municipal Court at the Overstrand Municipality Head Office in Magnolia Street or electronically.
