Whalehaven Wines
Award-winning Chardonnay & Pinot Noir at the entrance to the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley
Closed Opens tomorrow at 09:30
Whalehaven was the third producer established in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, founded in 1995 after Hamilton Russell and Bouchard Finlayson. Named for the Southern Right Whales that return to Hermanus each July, it sits at the foot of the valley, backed by investor Alberto Bottega (Bottega Family Wines Group), with winemaker Silvana Bottega at the helm. Recent accolades include a Decanter 97-point score and a Chardonnay du Monde gold, across the Classic Cultivar range and the Terroir Series (Sandstone Strata Chardonnay, Granite Rock Pinot Noir, Seascape Chardonnay, Earthscape Pinot Noir).
Tastings run as Sensory (wine and handmade chocolate pairing), Classic, Reserve, or Private for larger groups.
