U3A Overberg brings lifelong learning to people no longer in full-time work or raising a family. Established in the early 2000s by Dr Robin Lee, the branch is run entirely by a volunteer Management Committee and has grown to more than 400 members. Its programme of roughly 80 meetings a year, across two semesters, features expert guest speakers on history, science, travel, medicine, music and more, plus occasional Zoom talks and DVD screenings. Meetings are held in the hall of Our Lady of Light Catholic Church, and casual visitors are always welcome. The branch’s Hermanus History Interest Group researches and publishes local history articles.
