The Marine Tidal Pool
Sheltered saltwater pool below the Marine Hotel
A tidal pool at the foot of the cliffs in central Hermanus, below the Marine Hotel and next to Bientang's Cave. Reached by a set of steep steps down from the cliff path, so not an easy walk for anyone unsteady on their feet. The rocks separate it from the breaking waves, which makes it a calm place to swim, and it snorkels well at low tide. Sea urchins and sharp rock underfoot — dive booties are worth wearing.
