A community-led, non-profit initiative working to make Sandbaai safer, cleaner and better maintained. Membership is free and voluntary — SCVID is funded by donations rather than compulsory levies, and is independent from the municipality, with all objectives decided and voted on by Sandbaai residents and property owners themselves.
Plans include a fibre-linked camera network with AI monitoring across Sandbaai, WhatsApp spotter groups, and coordinated patrols in partnership with local security companies and the neighbourhood watch, alongside community clean-ups and other improvement projects. SCVID is registered as a non-profit company (NPC) and is fully SARS-compliant, with members getting access to progress reports and financial audits.
