Open now Closes 15:00

Perlemoen is a cosy seafront restaurant on the water's edge in Hermanus's historic Old Harbour, with views over Walker Bay from a wooden deck built out over the rocks — a well-known spot for land-based whale watching while you eat. The kitchen specialises in fresh, locally-sourced seafood and its namesake abalone (perlemoen), and was named a Hidden Gem by La Liste as well as featured for showcasing local abalone. Kids are welcome.

Menu highlights include Abalone Tasting Plates (pan-fried and tataki), Smoked Snoek Spring Rolls, West Coast Mussels in a creamy white wine sauce, Abalone Pasta (creamed abalone fusilli), and a Seafood Platter for two, alongside vegan and vegetarian options and desserts such as chocolate ganache tart, baked cheesecake and malva pudding.
