Originals Art Gallery is the working studio and showroom of Hermanus-based painter Terry Kobus, who studied Fine Art in South Africa after growing up in Zimbabwe and later lectured in graphic printmaking in Johannesburg before returning to painting full-time. He is best known for richly textured studies of indigenous Nguni cattle gathered on mountain-bike trips into rural South Africa, alongside Overberg and Walker Bay landscapes and more recent mixed-media pieces on antique maps and documents. Visitors can typically watch Kobus painting on site.
