Newton Johnson Vineyards is a family-owned estate run by husband-and-wife team Gordon and Nadia Newton Johnson, who bring 30-plus combined vintages of experience. They planted on virgin land bought in 2001 in the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, with a strong sustainability and biodiversity focus. Best known for wines "free from the distortion of modern convention" — Chardonnay and Pinot Noir above all. The tasting room's pavilion lounge looks out over the valley, mountains and sea toward Walker Bay.
