A small tidal pool on the coastal path between Onrus and Vermont, named after Jan Rabie, the Afrikaans novelist and short story writer of the Sestigers who lived at Onrus. A quiet spot to swim and a well-known one to watch the sun go down from. Take care at high tide, when waves break straight into the pool.

Named for the Afrikaans writer Jan Rabie, who bought a house in Vermont in 1970 — then a village of just nine houses — and walked to this pool often. Rabie helped name many of Vermont's streets after local wildlife and coastal features.
