Huis Lettie Theron is a home for the elderly in Hermanus, run as a programme of Badisa (NPO 011-891, PBO 930006348). It offers a family atmosphere, safe accommodation and dedicated care, with a motto of compassionate care to the elderly community.

Independent living: rented flats and Life Right flats (bachelor, one-bedroom and co-joined) can house 88 residents, with single rooms and shared bathrooms also available. Services include meals, cleaning and laundry, water and electricity, garden service, security and an emergency service. Assisted care is optional, and a few garages are available.

Frail care and dependent living: a Frail Care Unit for 53 residents, 19 assisted living rooms, 2 emergency rooms and a Mental Health Care Unit for 17 residents, all with 24-hour care and personal attention.

On site: dining room, recreational hall, sunroom, hair salon, coffee station, tuck shop, bargain (second-hand clothing) shop, laundry, gym trim, transport and a library. Residents enjoy prayer meetings, outings, knit and crochet, a veggie garden, French boules, bridge, Rummikub and cultural programmes. A generator means no load shedding.

Support the home: financial donations (Section 18A tax certificates are issued), toiletries for the Frail Care Unit, volunteers and the annual bazaar, Huis Lettie Makietie.
