Wide beach on the Hawston shoreline
A broad beach at Hawston that has carried Blue Flag or Blue Flag pilot status in recent seasons, with lifeguards on duty during the summer Blue Flag season. Good for walking and surfing; currents can be dangerous, so swim only where lifeguards direct.
Holds Blue Flag Pilot status for the 2025/26 season, with the lifeguard season running from 1 December to mid-January. A municipal Day Camping Site and Swimming Pool sits behind the dunes on Marine Drive (028 315 1821), with camping, parking and entrance charged separately.
