Grotto Beach
The largest beach in Hermanus, and its a Blue Flag beach
A long stretch of white sand backed by milkwood trees at the eastern end of Hermanus, running towards the Klein River lagoon. The main Blue Flag beach in the area, with ablutions, ample parking, disabled access, a restaurant and lifeguards during the Blue Flag season. The 12km cliff path starts from this end of town.
The lifeguard and Blue Flag season here runs longer than most other Overstrand beaches, extending through Easter Weekend. An amphibious beach wheelchair is available on request, for use under lifeguard supervision.
