Fisherhaven Lagoon Shore
Bot River lagoon frontage, not a sea beach
Fisherhaven sits on the Bot River lagoon rather than the open sea. The lagoon shore is used for launching canoes and small boats, birdwatching and walking. Conditions depend on whether the lagoon mouth is open.
The Bot River lagoon is a Ramsar-listed wetland — the third-largest estuarine system in the Cape Floristic Region — with 41 recorded fish species. Fisherhaven has the only official boat-launching site on the lagoon, plus a yacht club.
