South African painter of dreamlike, impressionistic figures and landscapes
Esté Mostert is a South African artist, born in 1959, who trained at the University of the Free State and has exhibited nationally and internationally since her first solo show in 1981. Working across ink, watercolour, pastel and oil, she paints atmospheric, impressionistic scenes of figures in landscape settings, with acknowledged influences from Cézanne and Matisse.
