Bosman Hermanus
Eighth-generation family wine estate in the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley
Closed Opens Tue at 10:00
The Bosman family has farmed grapes in Wellington for eight generations, and established this cool-climate, south-facing site in the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley in 2001. Distinctively, Bosman grafts its own vines on site — the group runs one of the Southern Hemisphere's most prominent vine nurseries, supplying over a third of South Africa's grafted cuttings, alongside a plant laboratory for industry research — and practises regenerative farming, with sea breezes slowing ripening for elegant, complex wines.
Tastings happen at The Frame House, a wood-and-iron building set among fynbos with panoramic views, child-friendly with a play area and the Koppie hiking trail. Its kitchen serves seasonally-curated sharing plates and coffee. The farm is also a working protea farm (De Bos Proteas) with farm-stay accommodation.
