Afdaksrivier is a working-farm nursery in the Delport family for over 150 years, with the nursery itself established in 2005. Alongside indigenous and exotic plants, it runs a full landscaping design and installation service ("no garden too big or small") and an irrigation division installing and repairing systems using Hunter equipment.

"Our Little Shop" sells crafts, gifts, nursery accessories and preserves, plus a small farm-stall counter — olive oil on tap, local honey and marmalade, coffee beans and milk kefir. The farm stocks pasture-raised eggs, Maxi's preserves and chilli sauces, and raw Hermanus fynbos honey among other local producers, and has a covered lapa available to hire for workshops and small functions.
