Remind me Stanford in Bloom & Chelsea Flowers in Stanford poster

Stanford's annual spring festival, now in its third year, celebrating flowers, food and village life in the Overberg. The headline attraction is Chelsea Flowers in Stanford: "Life After Fire", Leon Kluge's Gold medal and Best Exhibit in the Great Pavilion winning botanical display from the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026, recreated in Stanford. It tells the story of Cape fynbos regenerating after fire, with proteas, orchids and fire ephemerals not seen in decades. Open daily 09:00-17:00, tickets from R250, under 12s free, all profits to the Grootbos Foundation.

Around it runs the wider Stanford in Bloom festival: a daily village market on the Village Green, live music including Koos Kombuis and the Cape Town Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, a full programme of foodie demos and workshops in the Klein River Cheese Demo Kitchen, talks by Leon Kluge and other speakers, guided fynbos walks at Phillipskop, art, and more than 20 hands-on workshops. Many talks and the market are free; workshops and demos are individually priced and ticketed. See the festival website for the full day-by-day schedule.
